Deep garnet-brick in color, the 1995 Hill of Grace has a slightly leathered, dried fruit nose that is a little tired though highlighted by notes of sandalwood, tree bark and earth, hints of leather and meat. There's a touch of barnyard on the palate and it is a bit past its peak, fading slightly with crisp acid and firm, chewy tannins through a long finish. Importer: Negociants USA, Napa, CA; tel. Youthful crimson. Well-knit, rosy nose. More evolved than many and very rich yet structured. Reminds me a little of the wonderful 1986. You can see Australia here but with great finesse. Super clean. (JR)
Mid-crimson with ruby rim. Warm, rich, ready nose. Very well mannered. Broad, extremely ripe and winning. Relatively Rhône-like, from a very ripe year. Acidity a little dominant and the tannins quite dry at this stage for my taste. This is hard work at the moment. Very dry finish. (JR)
