Note di degustazione
Medium-deep brown in color, the 1981 Hill of Grace presents a nose redolent of licorice, tar, charcoal grilled meat and dried figs. Medium-bodied, crisp and a bit tart, it has medium level of chewy tannins that carry the flavors through a long finish. It is mature. Importer: Negociants USA, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 259-0993

Light fox red with a hint of orange at the rim. Light nose and a bit of oxidation. Sweet and grainy and rather brutal and coarse on the finish. A bit of alcohol too. Very hard work in terms of texture. (JR)
Sobering to taste this wine from the first year I visited Australia when it seemed on the very edge of the wine map. Deep ruby with rust rim. Heady violet scent and even some passion fruit flavours. A meaty wine that is far from past it. Quite vibrant if not exactly fine. Quite long, though much more evolved and lighter than the 1982. Slightly drying on the finish. (JR)
