Note di degustazione
Deep brown-colored, the 1979 Hill of Grace is replete with coffee, treacle, licorice and dark chocolate aromas. It has a slightly dried-out and faded palate, though it retains a nice core of evolved flavors, a crisp acid line, a medium level of chewy tannins and a long finish. It is mature. Quite dark blackish ruby. Not much nose. Blackcurrant fruit. Some tea leaves. Very concentrated and ripe but not very subtle. Salty and still a little chewy. This may evolve and is just a bit youthful and uncommunicative! (JR)
Fading fox colour. Real lift and interest on the nose. Slightly decaying but in a way that suggests integrity and real wine quality. This wine has vitality if not enormous guts. Tannins beginning to predominate and fruit to fade. (JR)
