Note di degustazione
Produced from 30 hectoliter per hectare yields, the 1997 Tokay-Pinot Gris Rotenberg offers a crystalline nose of steel, chalk, and minerals. It is sublimely precise, balanced, and focused. This medium-to-full-bodied wine's gun flint-dominated flavor profile has the stuffing, equilibrium, and concentration to enable it to age gracefully for 20 years or more. Exotic, superripe aromas of quince, dried apricot and spun sugar. Very rich and intensely flavored, seemingly with higher acidity than the Heimbourg. Also quite dry, at about 7 g/l residual sugar. More accessible today in the mouth, and very long on the aftertaste. But also quite high in alcohol (15.3%).
