Deep ruby. Smoke- and pepper-tinged dark berries and violet on the perfumed nose and in the mouth. Shows palate-staining concentration while coming off as lithe and precise thanks to zesty minerality. Finishes sappy, focused and very long, with sneaky tannins adding grip and a touch of candied flowers coming up.

The same blend as the Cuvee Prestige, yet aged all in larger wooden barrels, the 2011 Rasteau Cuvee Confiance has a big floral kick to go with notions of plum, smoked earth, mint and crushed rock-like minerality. Rich, medium to full-bodied, layered and beautifully fresh, if not even elegant, this beautiful 2011 will have upward of a decade of longevity. Drink 2014-2021.
