Bright purple. Sexy, expressive aromas of black raspberry, spicecake, smoky minerals and violet, with a hint of anise. Silky, precise and deep, offering powerful red and dark berry flavors that completely stain the palate. No excess fat here but this wine really packs a mineral-driven spicy punch. Its balance and finishing clarity are impressive.

The purple-colored 2007 Valtuille Cepas Centenarias spent 16 months in new French oak. It displays an extra aromatic dimension imparted by the old vines. Complex aromas of wet stone, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry are very sexy. With outstanding volume on the palate, layers of succulent fruit, and superb length, this splendid effort will evolve for several more years and offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2022.
