Note di degustazione
Polished and perfumed, with notable purity and a fruit driven personality, the 2007 Domaine Bertrand Stehelin Gigondas delivers loads of cassis and blackberry like fruits that are intermixed with licorice, garrigue, and stony, mineral characteristics. While ripe, there’s solid complexity and the aromas are fresh and focused. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, showing the beautiful round, sexy texture of the vintage, loads of ripe fruit, solid backend structure, and a long finish. No harm in drinking this now, but I think it will evolve beautifully over the next 2-4 years, and drink well for a decade or longer.

Bright ruby. Perfumed bouquet of boysenberry and lavender complicated by an exotic touch of apricot pit. Lush, creamy dark berry flavors show liqueur-like depth and a seamless texture. Accessible and drinking well now, finishing with serious sweetness and juicy persistence.
One of the village’s up-and-coming young turks, Bertrand Stehelin has fashioned a superb example of Gigondas. The purple-colored 2007 reveals strong notes of crushed rocks, spring flowers, boysenberries, and dark raspberries. Rich and full-bodied with a multidimensional mouthfeel, admirable purity, and stunning length, it should provide plenty of pleasure over the next 10-12 years.
