Note di degustazione
Guigal’s 2006 Gigondas is a rich, chewy, concentrated and slightly chunky effort that offers tons of meaty, peppery, black fruits and chocolaty aromas and flavors. It has good freshness and plenty of concentration in a foursquare, enjoyable style that will continue evolving nicely for 5-7 years. The blend here is 60% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah the spent two years in mostly new foudres.

Very Provençal with boat loads of garrigue, herbs, lavender and sweet Grenache fruit, the 2006 E. Guigal Gigondas is medium bodied and balanced with sweet fruit, a firm texture and a decent dose of ripe tannin on the finish. While outstanding now, I think this will improve over the next handful of years and then drink well over the following 8 to 10.
(includes one-third mourvedre) Bright ruby. Highly aromatic bouquet of raspberry, dried rose, white pepper and herbs. Fresh red fruits on the palate, with notes of succulent herbs and smoky minerals adding complexity. Lithe and precise on the finish, with the floral note echoing.
