Deep crimson with some evolution. A little dried-fruit character on the nose. But on the palate there is good freshness and fully evolved lively fruit. Just a hint of alcohol on the end but lots of easy, curranty pleasure on the mid palate. No great persistence. (JR)

Exceptional colour. Very rich and ripe with an opulence on the nose unknown in previous vintages for this chateau. Actually pretty good – this is surely one of the great buys of the vintage. Neat finish, no excess of greenness. Fresh finish. (JR)
