Vivid ruby. Suave, floral-accented scents of black raspberry, redcurrant and Asian spices, with a bright mineral component. Pure, elegant and lively, with excellent lift and focus to its bright red fruit. Finishes with intense flavors of cherry and licorice, with a brisk mineral quality and very silky tannins. This wine clocks in at 12.9% alcohol, by the way.

Tasted in three components: #1, an older barrel of younger-vines fruit: Fresh, energetic and highly perfumed, showing bright red fruit and floral character and suave spiciness. #2, a two-year-old barrel: more fruit-driven and darker in profile. Ripe cherry and blackberry flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and show strong finishing power and spiciness. #3, a new barrel: Weighty black and blue fruits, with exotic floral and fruitcake nuances. Supple, broad and penetrating, with intense finishing florality and impressive length. The final wine should be a powerful one for this cellar, but still with the clarity and vivacity that Jasmin's followers have come to expect here.
