Note di degustazione
Bright, full ruby. Brooding aromas of roasted black fruits, coffee and bitter chocolate. Suave on entry, then dense and silky in the mouth, with lovely lift and brightness for the vintage. Firm flavors of black cherry, blackberry, cassis, licorice and minerals. Builds slowly and inexorably on the back end, with the huge, youthfully aggressive yet even tannins spreading out to coat the front teeth. A big boy, and likely to be long-lived.

Dark purplish crimson. Sweet treacle toffees on the front palate then cripplingly severe tannins – the fruit just doesn’t stand a chance! Over-extracted is what I would call a table wine like this. A second taste a week later also revealed extremely dry tannins though masses of luscious blackberry fruit too. This may have been a poor sample from this thoughtful and dynamic wine producer so I shall be fascinated to follow the progress of this wine over the decades to come. (JR)
Dark color. Intense aromas of blackberries, licorice and iodine. Full-bodied and lightly sweet, with wonderfully integrated tannins. Long and caressing, yet wonderfully structured. Sexy. Best after 2015. 3,330 cases made. – James Suckling , Wine Spectator 2006
