Note di degustazione
The 1992 Shiraz The Armagh is sealed under cork. Notes of tobacco, star anise, resin, some char, plenty of crushed ant, blackberry and raspberry too, rise out of the glass. The fruit in the mouth tapers to a long finish, one riddled with licorice and berries. This is fresh and good. It has 14.5% alcohol and matured for 19 months in 50% French and 50% American oak barriques (225 liters).

A rich and firmly structured shiraz with plenty of raw-meat and dark-chocolate character filling out the ample body, Plenty of mature character in the nose and on the front palate, but at the finish it’s surprisingly youthful. Drink or hold.
The commendable 1992 Armagh has retained an impressive level of fruit, with aromas of blackberry and mulberry topped by hints of old leather and spice. Fleshy textures are punctuated by a twist of fine tannins, which are holding this wine at peak. It will rest there for another four or five years before a slow decline.
