The aromatically expressive 2000 Riesling Smaragd Kellerberg bursts with spicy pears. This oily-textured, medium-bodied wine is feminine, refined, and has outstanding balance. It is armed with great depth. This apricot and apple-flavored wine has a long, pure finish. Drink it between 2005 and 2014. While Americans can be found knocking on the doors of Burgundian estates every day of the year, only 5-10 per year stop at Weingut Emmerich Knoll. This statistic is bound to change as Americans come to appreciate the stunning wines Austria, and this winery, produce regularly. Peach jam and pepper scents rise from the glass. Full in the mouth, the wine brings mocha and coffee characteristics along with peach. There is also a certain tactile roughness and heat.
