1997 Condrieu Ayguets

Aromatic nose of apricot nectar, honey and hay. Thick, supple and soft, with flavors of honeyed apricot and syrupy fruit salad. A bit sweet for me; could use more nuance and cut. Finishes with a slightly bitter edge. Perhaps best suited for drinking over the next year or two. Not in the league of the exceptional '96.
