Sweet oak on the nose which crushes the fruit. Shame because the fruit is rather nice. Chewy finish. Hold off the oak please! This is the Graves property of the Cazes family of Lynch Bages. (JR)

Mid healthy crimson. Full, ripe – almost rudely ripe – fruit. Extremely sweet and lively with some new plantings in the late 1980s coming on stream now. Notable acidity and a bit of tealeaf character but not quite as winning as I have found it in some other vintages. (JR)
