2002 St Joseph Les Serines

Medium ruby-red. Perfumed aromas of cassis, pepper, leafy herbs and flowers. Juicy, spicy and lean, with black fruit and pepper flavors. A bit hard-edged and tannic but bright and clean for the year. One feels the acids here, but this sample was nonetheless rounder than Cuilleron's 2002 Cote-Rotie Terres Sombres, and finishes with finer tannins.
