The 1995 Hermitage is available in the marketplace. An outstanding effort, it boasts a dark ruby/purple color, and sweet cassis flavors nicely dosed with subtle oak. Licorice, truffle, mineral, and spice notions are also apparent in this impressively endowed wine's full-bodied flavors. It possesses moderate but sweet tannin. Deep red-ruby. Aromas of currant, licorice, lead pencil, pepper and damp earth. Medium-bodied and rather closed in on itself; lively but not especially fleshy. Finishes with tongue-dusting tannins. Hard to taste today following the recent mise . In today market, this Hermitage is a bargain.
