1991 Hermitage

This wine, 100% from Les Greffieux, reveals a deep purple color with no signs of age. A big, tar, cassis, smoky-scented nose is followed by a full-bodied, rustic wine with considerable power, rich fruit, and chewiness. It needs 2-4 more years of cellaring, and should keep for 15-20 years. If it develops more harmony between its fruit and tannin, it may merit an outstanding score. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2015.
