2011 Rall White

A blend Chenin Blanc (at least 50%), Viognier, Chardonnay and Verdelho, the 2011 White Blend has a sensual, well-defined bouquet with scents of dried pineapple, honey, dry straw and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe apricot and quince on the entry. It has fine acidity and cohesion with superb purity and tension, packed full of expressive apricot, white peach and light honeyed notes. The blend works really well here – a scintillating artisan Swartland white. Bravo. Drink now-2020. Rall was started in 2008 by Donovan Rall who began with modest means, making wine in rented space. He has worked at Tokara and then with Eben Sadie – two great places to learn, as attested by his wines. No known US importer.
