The 2001 Cuvee des Galets (a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, and 20% Syrah) boasts a dense inky/purple color in addition to sumptuous aromas of freshly ground pepper, blackberry liqueur, and lavender. Ripe, full-bodied, sweet, rich flavors caress the palate with no hard edges. This glorious, dry, substantial red can be drunk now as well as over the next 6-8 years.
