Note di degustazione
(75% vendange entier ): Healthy dark red. Classic Gevrey aromas of dark berries, black cherry, minerals, smoke and iron. Rich, round and deep, showing terrific tactile strenth to its redcurrant and fresh blood flavors. A big boy with very good lift. Finishes with substantial chewy but ripe tannins and a repeating iron note.

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux had a touch of reduction on the nose, but there is clearly plenty of ripeness with lush black cherry and cassis aromas, here a little better defined than, say, the Fonteny at the moment. The palate is underpinned by silky smooth tannins, a crisp line of acidity and a nicely poised, harmonious finish that will be nigh irresistible. Superb.
60% whole bunch, 100% new oak. Very rich, intense, hugely ripe nose. Broad and spicy, almost peppery. Dry finish but very well contained. Just slightly leaner than some on the palate. Muscular. (JR)
