The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet Villages is one of the most overtly ripe, sun-kissed wines in the cellar this year, and it's already beginning to get quite exotic, offering up an expressive nose of buttered apples, tropical fruit, peach, mint and honey. On the palate, this is broad, textural and rich, already precociously open knit. While this reveals greater tension and restraint than the rather buxom Bourgogne Blanc and offers a nice introduction to the domaine’s style, it's a candidate for near-term consumption.

Pale, bright yellow. Lime, menthol, fresh herbs and white truffle on the nose. A supple, juicy, dry midweight with a slight alcoholic warmth but good shape to its citrus fruit, menthol and floral flavors. Finishes dusty and persistent, with a minty nuance and a distinct dryness. Solid more than complex or exciting. The name of this property has changed from Domaine Ramonet to Jean-Claude Ramonet, but Noël Ramonet still does the vineyard work, with an assist from his two sons, and brother Jean-Claude is responsible for the harvest and the vinification.
