Full medium red. Captivating lift to the aromas of musky raspberry, flowers and white truffle. Wonderfully smooth on entry, then a bit reticent but fresh in the middle, showing good floral lift to the raspberry and cherry flavors. Really perfumes the aftertaste, but with its slightly edgy acidity this beauty will need time to open and blossom.
Light nose but real ‘bottom’ and subtlety to this wine. Very convincing. Fresh but interesting. One of the sure-fire bets of the vintage. (JR)
Moderately saturated bright medium red. Slightly reduced aromas of red raspberry, red cherry and minerals, with hints of smoke and menthol; suggests a leaner wine. Then light and saline on the palate, conveying a rather soft texture and moderate intensity. Reasonably broad in the mouth but doesn't quite come alive today. Finishes with supple tannins that turn a tad dry as the wine opens in the glass. This was 12.1% potential alcohol chaptalized to 12.8%.
