Bright full red. Deep aromas of black raspberry, dark cherry, smoky minerals and licorice. Plush, fine-grained and voluptuous; offering greater mouth coverage than the Chaignots and Damodes, not to mention depth of soil-driven flavor. Still a bit medicinal and clenched, even reduced, finishing with broad, palate-saturating, ripe tannins that should support a long evolution in bottle. By far the longest of these Nuits-Saint-Georges bottlings, but this fairly big wine will need time in the cellar to show more sweetness.

A step up in complexity and depth on the nose from the foregoing Nuits-Saint-Georges samples, offering sexy soil tones to the aromas of raspberry, minerals, smoke and dried flowers. Rich, pliant, soil-inflected wine with terrific breadth, depth and herbal lift. This fleshy yet brisk wine finishes with noble tannins and superb lingering fruit. Technical director Jerome Flous wants to bottle this beauty in January.
