80–90% whole bunch and 60% new oak. Light to mid crimson. Sweet and sour red fruits dominate the nose, the whole-bunch component and the oak taking second place though that stemmy character becomes more obvious in the glass and adds a slight bitterness on the finish. Pure, almost silky in texture already, with the gentlest of tannic grips. A complex and lovely wine that certainly needs time. (JH)
The most nuanced of the Fürst trio, this wine reveals a true and deep Pinot soul. A quiet, lifted palate of delicate fruit and chalky minerality, refined structure and elegant tannins. Hints of cassis, dried tobacco and November forest floor hang out in the wings. Some might call it burgundian, but its supple, balanced beauty is German Pinot at its best. (PS)
