Note di degustazione
(Cheurlin made barely 15 hectoliters per hectare here due to frost, picking these north-facing vines on October 5 after pausing for nearly a week): Dark red-ruby. Alluring floral lift to the aromas of blackberry and spices. Juicy and intense, with dark berry flavors complemented by saline minerality. Offers a lot of personality for its humble appellation.

The sophomore 2016 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits was reduced to nine barrels because of the frost this year. This is released under Maxime Cheurlin's own name rather than Domaine Georges Noëllat. It offers attractive brambly red berry fruit on the nose with fine definition. The palate is medium-bodied with cranberry and raspberry preserve, and crunchy tannin on the slightly curtailed finish. Enjoy this after a year in bottle.
