2003 Jean-Marie Roumier - Ruchottes-Chambertin

Good red-ruby color. Black fruits, leather, violet and spicy oak on the rather subtle but wild nose. Juicy, rich and densely packed; a step up over the preceding wines in power and definition. But this is distinctly backward for 2003 and in need of at least five or six years of cellaring. Finishes impressively broad, with a light dusting of tannins.
