Note di degustazione
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Roncière 1er Cru has a slightly stemmy, well-defined bouquet featuring brambly red fruit and balsamic, though it needs a little more cohesion. Charming, though. The lithe palate is well balanced with supple tannins and pure strawberry, cranberry and white pepper notes toward the finish. Nice sustain; gentle and quite alluring. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

The 2017 Nuit Saint-Georges Roncière 1er Cru (Grivot uses the singular and not the plural Roncières) is pure and charming on the nose of raspberry preserve, briar, brown spices and a touch of pencil box. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity, tightening up toward the second half and leading to a saline, quite penetrating finish. Good potential here, but afford it four or five years in bottle.
Grivot's 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Roncière is attractive, bursting with aromas of blackberries, wild berries and currant leaf that are delicately framed by a touch of spicy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy but mineral, with an ample core of juicy fruit, fine tannins and a saline finish. This might surpass the Pruliers this year.
