2015 Realm The Falstaff

The 2015 Falstaff is plush and inviting, with all of the natural intensity of the year pushed forward. Inky dark fruit, spice, crème de cassis, licorice and lavender are all given an extra kick of intensity in this voluptuous, racy Napa Valley red blend. The 2015 is terrific, not to mention one of the more beautiful wines in this series.

This is exquisite with so much hazelnuts and blue fruit. Full yet bright with vibrant acidity, which keeps the form and gives it energy and drive. A great wine. A blend of cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Drink in 2021.

The Cabernet Franc cuvee is the 2015 The Falstaff and it has a fresh, elegant, seamless style that doesn’t skimp on fruit or texture. From a hillside outside of Oakville and 88% Cabernet Franc and 12% Merlot, its deep purple color is followed by terrific notes of black cherries, blueberries, scorched earth, and licorice. It picks up more minerality with time in the glass, has a seamless, full-bodied texture, no sensation of weight or heaviness, and a great finish. One of the most thrilling tastings I was able to do for this report, these incredible wines from Realm are made by the talented Frenchman, Benoit Touquette. These are true blockbuster, magical wines I wish every reader could taste.
