Note di degustazione
Chaumes is south of La Tâche, at the lower end of the slope and with more clay. While it can often produce a more muscular style of wine, that isn’t Nicole Lamarche’s style, and she aims to add elegance and finesse to the wine – something that shines in the 2022. It’s full of juicy red fruit, tart raspberry and redcurrant – crunchy, vibrant and intense in its purity. There’s a chalky, mineral backdrop, but it’s the acidity that drives the wine, providing a firm backbone, with nubuck tannins that provide a pleasing, velvet grip.

Pretty aromas of various red berries, anise, violet and sandalwood give way to more concentrated though still quite supple flavors that firm up on the refined, balanced and sneaky long finale. While this well-made effort could be enjoyed young, a few years of keeping should add depth. Drink 2029+
Attractive mid to pale purple. The fruit is light on the nose, with more substance on the palate, some alpine strawberries in the mix, with a clean run through to the finish. The fine boned acidity adds a little lift to finish.
