Note di degustazione
Vines planted on the south side of Anderson Valley at 1,600 ft. On the second ridge in from the Pacific. A cool vineyard and therefore a surprise it’s 15.6%. Acidities linger very high. ‘There was massive malic so the total acid dropped notably after MLF.’ This vineyard was planted in 1920 – difficult to see why anyone planted Zin here. Very dark crimson. High and bracing nose. Intense. Spice and almost a decongestant! Tastes as though there is some sweetness here. Sinewy with an oddly peachy finish. More of a statement than a wine really. (JR)

The 2013 Zinfandel DuPratt Vineyard is one of the most intensely aromatic and eccentric wines in the range. Pine, mint, cinnamon, game, smoke, juniper berries and dark red cherries all lift from the glass as this crystalline, pure Mendocino Zinfandel shows off its compelling personality. This cool-climate vineyard planted in 1920 was the last to be harvested.
From Mendocino Ridge, the 2013 Zinfandel DuPratt Vineyard is one of the few Carlisle Zins that is 100% Zinfandel. It carries its 15.6% natural alcohol naturally, with no heat or harshness. It is an elegant, nearly Pinot Noir-like red in its delicacy and grace. Medium-bodied with beautiful ripeness, crisp, tart acids, and a refreshing, cool climate-like character, it offers a complete contrast to the Russian River and Sonoma Zinfandels. Drink now-2020.
