Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2017-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2014

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts 2011 has a deep, quite broody but well-defined bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and sous-bois scents. Perhaps there is a little stem addition here, but if so it is discretely covered. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe red cherry and raspberry fruit. This is controlled and nicely focused with a tangy, quite spicy finish that maintains precision. Give this aristocratic and graceful Malconsorts two or three years in the cellar at least – it’s a wine of breeding and class.

Bit harsh. Bit dry, jewelly. Just a bit jagged. Clean and fresh. (JR)

A discreet touch of wood sets off the strikingly spicy and very pretty mix of various red berry fruit and cassis aromas that are liberally laced with hoisin, soy and anise. The refined yet tautly muscled flavors possess good detail and plenty of punch before culminating in a dusty and mouth coating finish of grand cru depth and persistence. This is impressive.
