Note di degustazione
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Malconsorts 1er Cru received a little more new oak than the others, but still at a prudent 30%. The fruit profile is a little darker than Les Suchots or Les Chaumes, offering raspberry, cranberry and touches of blackberry, plus it also conveys more energy. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, good grip and more density and weight toward the finish than those aforementioned Premier Crus. This has tons of potential.

A discreet application of wood sets off the very spicy, in particular clove and anise, aromas of violet, lavender, plum and red currant. The powerful and markedly more concentrated broad-shouldered flavors exude a subtle minerality on the succulent yet very firmly structured finale that exhibits excellent length. While this mildly warm effort should age gracefully for years to come it's not so backward that it couldn't be enjoyed after 5-ish years.
