Note di degustazione
(a négociant wine made from purchased grapes from the Chambolle side of the appellation; Grivot, it turns out, has had a négociant license since 1994): Medium red. Musky, lower-toned aromas of smoke, minerals, roasted herbs and earth. Fat, sweet and rather oaky, boasting more volume than precision; could use more energy and grip. The slightly drying tannins arrive early. Has sap but the nutty, vanillin oak overwhelms the wine's fruit today. Grivot put this wine in a new barrel that had been empty for a year and doesn't like the integration of the wood to this point. A rather puzzling showing today.
