Note di degustazione
The 2015 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru is not to be outdone by the 2016. It has a stunning bouquet with mineral-laden red fruit, very focused and shimmering with almost nascent energy. The palate has exquisite balance so that it feels almost nonchalant in style. Slightly grainy tannins frame the dark berry fruit, leading to quite a weighty and authoritative finish that suggests a long road ahead. Magnificent.

Tasted from bottle, the 2015 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru is one of the highlights of the 2015 vintage at Domaine Armand Rousseau, bursting from the glass with a stunning bouquet of raspberry, peony, orange peel, cocoa and wood smoke. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, pure and elegant, with a taut chassis of fine tannins, excellent concentration and a lovely line of acidity that lends this Ruchottes-Chambertin superb precision on the finish. I'd argue that it surpasses the domaine's Clos Saint-Jacques this year.
Good medium red. Deep aromas and flavors of raspberry, mocha and minerals lifted by spicy high notes; very ripe but not at all cooked. Sweet, penetrating and fine-grained, with firm acidity contributing to its impression of structure. This solidly tannic wine is quite closed today (Cyrielle Rousseau described it as "a baby bully") and will need patience.
