Note di degustazione
The 2018 Langhe Rosso is sourced from 30-year-old vines from Barolo and Barbaresco and leads with a bit of rusticity with a hint of barnyard in its notes of wild cherries and rocky earth. All this continues to the palate with great intensity and a weightless feel. There’s great energy through the wine, and although it’s rustic and a little wild, it has a lot of character and energy, with lovely structure, nervous tannins, and fresh acidity. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.

The 2018 Langhe Rosso is 100% Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco-designated vineyards. Dried red cherry, mint, spice, tobacco, dried leaves and worn-in leather all grace this super-expressive, ethereal Langhe Rosso. The 2018 comes across as a bit mature aromatically, so I would not push my luck on aging. Even so, it is a delicious wine for readers who want to experience a Nebbiolo with early tertiary complexity. In this vintage Luca Roagna was especially selective with what he bottled for his top wines, so production for the Langhe Rosso is nearly double what it is in most years.
Informazioni sul produttore

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
