Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2025-2070, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru from Louis Jadot is one of the most firmly shut down wines in the portfolio, but its potential is superb, unfurling in the glass with notes of wild berries, creamy cherry, rose hip and currant leaf. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with outstanding purity and energy, but dominated for the time being by its ample chassis of chalky, fine-grained tannins which will take a decade or more to melt away. The rewards of patience will be considerable.

(just four barrels made; totally destemmed): Deep, saturated red. Brooding yet sweet scents of cassis, kirsch , blueberry and licorice. The compellingly sappy flavors of black fruits and spices boast superb texture and depth. Finishes with outstanding, slowly rising length, the huge but fully ripe tannins in harmony with the wine's powerful fruit. As chewy as a solid: I'd love to taste this in 20 years. "I can't imagine using the stems here," noted Barnier.

The 2015 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a very refined bouquet, the precocity of the vineyard harnessed and kept under control, very focused and delineated with intense black cherry and mulberry scents, crushed violet unfurling with time. I can see this blossoming down the line. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, lively and tensile. There is not enormous weight and penetration towards the finish, preferring to remain quite linear and "well-behaved," yet it is certainly long and persistent, and it should bestow 20-30 years of drinking pleasure.
