Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2019-2040, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2017

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, the 2014 Chevalier Montrachet les Demoiselles Grand Cru from Louis Jadot (Domaine Gagey) was much more closed on the nose compared to its peers. Cornice pear, green apple and a scent of wet pavement just after it has rained manifest with aeration, however it needs more cohesion and vigor. The palate is very well balanced with fine delineation, clean and precise with a fine bead of acidity. There is a patina of vanilla-laced new oak toward the finish that needs to be addressed. There is a chance that this will improve in bottle and reach the level I found out of barrel. There will be a lot of pleasure finding out.

Very closed nose conveys a youthfully medicinal character and piquant minerality. Wonderfully silky and seamless but extremely primary, boasting explosive energy and definition in the mouth, with near-painful intensity to its flavors of lemon, lime, crushed stone and menthol. Finishes with extraordinary palate-staining length. I'd love to check back in on this beauty 15 years from now. Jadot's vines are in the highest part of this grand cru.

More mineral and spicy than the Bâtard. Playing harder to get. Leaner than the Bâtard but not lacking in fruit or concentration. Direct and tight and packed with potential even though the fruit and freshness are already appealing. Mouth-watering intensity to the very long finish. (JH)

Plenty of ground coffee, toast and vanilla aromas announce this white, while flavors of peach, lemon and apple follow through. Young and a little disjointed, but all the parts are there. Finishes long and satisfying. 168 cases made. Mar 2017, www.winespectator.com, Drink: 2019-2032
