Awash with flagrant fruit, bold and outrageous, and then the tannins kick in and bring a modicum of decorum with their beautifully chiselled muscle and restraint. Touch of wet red bricks on the end. This is gorgeous. These Fourriers have so much audacious flair. (And so does the price.) (TC)

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cherbaudes 1er Cru does show some new wood on the nose that needs to be integrated, as it covers some of the terroir expression at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness on the entry. It's a little muscular on the finish, whereas the Vieilles Vignes displays more panache.
Aromas of orange zest, rose petals, plums and spices introduce the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that's supple, seamless and floral, with an elegant, harmonious profile.
The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru has a perfumed, quite floral nose, with wilted white flower and light peppery scents filtering through its expressive red fruit. It is quite classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins and red fruit laced with brown spices with just a touch of earthiness on the finish. This is recommended.
