The 2015 La Tour Blanche offers yellow raisin, vanilla, quince and apricot aromas on the nose that is quite showy at the moment. The palate is ripe, medium-bodied, smooth, candied and buttery on the entry, with notes of tropical fruit, orange pith and apricot jam. This has lower acidity than recent vintages. It's very pure, with a tang of lemongrass on the finish. One of the better vintages in recent years, this comes recommended.

The 2015 La Tour Blanche has a generous, slightly "fluffy" bouquet that needs to manifest more delineation. Lo and behold that develops with aeration, coalescing nicely with a mineral element that takes time to reveal itself. The palate is very well balanced with a viscous opening, a fine bead of acidity, some reduction toward the finish but it feels long and laden with botrytis. This is a serious Sauternes but it will require considerable bottle age. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.
Tasted blind. Icing-sugar nose. Neat and composed with floral notes and nothing exaggerated. Fresh acidity. (JR)
Spicy and sweet and just a little sugary compared to Suduiraut. Shame because earlier vintages have been v impressive. This just seems a bit sugary and simple by comparison. (JR)
