1991 Louis Jadot - Romanee St Vivant

My highest rating for the Jadot wines reviewed in this section is bestowed on the 1991 Romanee St.-Vivant (only 50 cases were produced). The deep ruby color is followed by a nose of sweet black-cherry fruit, Asian spices, herbs, and floral scents. Rich and expansive, with a gorgeously voluptuous texture supported by fine acidity and tannin, this exceptionally rich, concentrated wine possesses brilliant balance, and a long, lusty, moderately tannic finish. NOTES ON THE 1992s FROM BARREL: Jadot's 1992 reds appear to be fruitier, more charming and attractive wines than the 1991s. Not as powerful nor as tannic as the 1991s, they display seductive, velvety textures and loads of sweet fruit. They are particularly strong in Jadot's extensive Cote de Beaune portfolio. Moreover, prices for the 1992s will be lower, making them attractive buys.
