2000 Château Le Doyenne

This has been a perennial choice over recent years as one of the best of the low level Bordeaux wines that sell for a song. A blend of 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, with malolactic in barrel, this plump, medium-bodied 2000 shows plum, cocoa, cherry, and chocolatey notes, dense, medium-bodied flavors, and loads of fruit and glycerin. It is a hedonistic Bordeaux for drinking over the next 3-4 years.
