2019 Envinate Lousas Vinas de Aldea CV

The Lousas Cuvée Viticole has been split into two different wines, one with blue text on the label (but almost unnoticeable) and another one with red text. The blue one, the 2019 Lousas Cuvée Viticole Azul was produced mostly (60%) with grapes from the Doade-Amandi subzone of Ribeira Sacra—90% Mencía and 10% other varieties. Sixty percent of the wine comes from a concrete vat that mixed different vinifications, and the rest is from two 228-liter barrels where the wine matured for 11 months. It has 13.2% alcohol and a pH of 3.75 with 5.4 grams of acidity. This feels very juicy and complete, precise, clean and very expressive (but took some time in the glass), with the juiciness of the 2019, a spark of freshness and a long finish. 950 bottles were filled in December 2020.
