Note di degustazione
I often have a preference for his Vieilles Vignes bottling, but this year's 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echézeaux looks to be Fourrier's best communal-level cuvée. Revealing aromas of dark berries, plums, burning embers and loamy soil, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and nicely concentrated, with lively acids and a long, saline finish.

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echézeaux has a well-defined bouquet that shows a little more focus than the Vieilles Vignes. I appreciate the mineralité expressed here. The palate is well-balanced with succulent ripe tannins, black cherries mixed with cassis and a touch of star anis. It leads to a finely poised, slightly confit-like finish. Give this 4-5 years in bottle.
Tank sample. Bright mid-ruby; raspberries, again. Plush and ripe. Velvet but built to last. (MH)
