Note di degustazione
From an acre of an Etzel vineyard in Ribbon Ridge, the 2022 Pinot Noir Sequitur Vineyard displays a darker hue and exhibits Ribbon Ridge character with an earthier profile of ripe black cherries, lifted spices, forest herbs, and dark stones. It has a good deal of structure, with a bit of high-toned tension on the palate, more energetic acidity, ripe, defined tannins, and a snappy feel. It’s going to need another year or two in bottle, then drink over the following 15 years.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Sequitur Vineyard begins with a touch of flintiness that gives way to red cherries, pipe tobacco, iodine, salami and singular sparks of grapefruit peel. The medium-bodied palate is bursting with detailed, savory flavors and soaring top notes of citrus. It has a finely chalky frame, fireworks of fresh acidity and a long, layered finish.
Lavender and violet tones evolve into crushed blackberries as the 2022 Pinot Noir Sequitur Vineyard smolders up from the glass. This is crisp and energetic in feel, opening with crunchy mineral tones as tantalizing acidity enhances its tart red and blue fruits. Hints of licorice resonate throughout. The 2022 finishes structured and tense, leaving a lick of sour citrus and a pleasantly bitter tinge. This is gorgeous now but needs further cellaring to show its best.
