The 2018 Estate Syrah Les Titans is made in a classic cool-climate style, with pure violet perfume that floats across fresh blackcurrant fruit, plus notes of aniseed, chargrill and earth. The medium-bodied palate is firm, fresh, pure and perfumed, with a long, layered finish. The 2018 Syrah Estate Les Titans is one of the great Syrahs of California. Deep and wonderfully savory, with mind-blowing balance, the Titans has it all. In most vintages, the Titans is very peppery and savory, but the 2018 it is so well-balanced that nothing in particular stands out. Perhaps the late season heat baked some of the slightly herbal notes that are so typical. Regardless, the 2018 is a fabulous wine in every way.
