2011 HALL Cabernet Sauvignon Jack's Masterpiece

(14.9% alcohol, like the Napa Valley merlot and cabernet bottlings; 75% new oak): Full red-ruby. Red berries and spicy oak on the nose, along with a green pepper streak. Then a bit riper in the mouth, showing good intensity and decent depth to the currant and tobacco leaf flavors. Shows nice definition and a restrained sweetness, finishing with firm tannins, an herbal quality and moderate length.
