Note di degustazione
The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Malconsorts 1er Cru certainly reveals the stem addition on the nose, but there is plenty of dark berry fruit intermixed with marine scents. The palate improves in the glass. The whole cluster defines the wine, grainy in texture, linear and focused with an overly peppery yet persistent finish. It is of the Dujac style that divided the room and though I was dismissive at first, I feel there is a serious Malconsorts that simply needs time. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts 1er Cru has a very appealing, well-defined and poised bouquet with slightly leafy red fruit tones and a touch of dried blood in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It's much more "classic" and drier in style than the 2022, yet I appreciate the structure on the finish. This doesn't quite reach the level I expected from barrel, but it will give at least a decade of drinking pleasure.
The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts 1er Cru has a little more fruit intensity on the nose; it is slightly darker by direct comparison. Fine delineation, quite bold in the context of the vintage. The palate is very intense, fine acidity, very sensual with just a hint of dark chocolate and black truffle shavings on the finish. Wonderful.
