The 2022 Pinot Noir Durant Vineyard Madrone Block comes from Dijon clone vines planted in 2000. It was fermented with 40% whole clusters, and the wine was matured in 8% new French oak. It has a well of dried cherry and cranberry on the nose, and with time in the glass, it reveals nuances of bergamot, licorice and rose petal. The medium-bodied palate is highly concentrated yet weightless with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and an ethereal, fragrant finish. 325 cases were made.

Juicy and offering more immediacy, the 2022 Pinot Noir Durant Vineyard Madrone Block is a ruby hue and offers pretty notes of supple, ripe cherry fruit, forest floor, and a hint of violet perfume coming through. It feels generous on the palate, with a delicate, rounded midpalate and a very appealing, weightless feel.
The 2022 Pinot Noir Durant Vineyard Madrone Block smolders up with an array of dark red berries and exotic spice lifted by a whiff of mentholated herbs. It's zesty within, with silken textures and ripe primary fruits that slowly saturate as saline minerals mingle with edgy tannins toward the close. This cleans up beautifully through the finish, leaving a licorice tinge and hints of blood orange that curl the tongue. A real crowd-pleaser, the Madrone Block is the total package. The 2022 was fermented entirely with whole-cluster fruit.
