Note di degustazione
The 2012 Gevrey Chambertin from the talented Arnaud Mortet seemed a little bashful on the nose, but with aeration it reveals attractive blackberry and wild strawberry scents that are well defined, just a touch of sous-bois with further opening. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded ripe tannin, plenty of bold dark cherry and raspberry fruit that exerts a gentle grip. The acidity is well judged here and there is a finesse on the finish above Village Cru quality. This is simply excellent.

Bright medium red. Musky redcurrant and plum aromas are complicated by game and leather nuances. Sweet and fine-grained, offering rich flavors of red and purple fruits. This elegant, concentrated village wine is already delicious but has the backbone to evolve gracefully.
Charming smoky hints on the nose, then a really sudden expansive red fruit on the palate. Lots of potential here, but it needs time for the flavours to meld properly. Soft tannins, so not for the longer term. (RH)
(30% new oak): Bright medium red. Aromas of sweet raspberry, licorice, crushed stone and flowers. Dense, juicy and taut, with cool, vibrant berry and mineral flavors nicely framed by harmonious, ripe acidity. Finishes with a whiplash of flavor. The crop level was a modest 35 hectoliters per hectare due to millerandage. Elegant, rich and ripe village wine.
